I-                    BATTLE HONORS. - Under the provisions of Section IV, Circular No. 333, WD, 1943, the following-named unit of the Fifthteen Air Force is cited for Combat Readiness. The Citation reads as follows:

 

 

“The 307^th Fighter Squadron.  For extraordinary sortie all squadron aircraft against the enemy on 3 November 1943. On that date the pilots of the 31^st Fighter Group, 307^th Fighter Squadron displayed the exceptional determination and skill to achieve 100% combat readiness. Although several of the aircraft sustained heavy damage and while both the CO and XO had to bail out.  This Command would like to present to the 307^th Fighter Squadron the Combat Readiness Medal.
