Commander Squadron Service Cross
During frame 4 of MM daddy= as lead for the 31st F.G. heard the call for help from the 22nd B.G. and without hesitation had his pilots reverse course and locate the 22nd B.G. it was daddy and -lb-- the 2 pilots who located the 22nd B.G. at the precise time when they were needed. The 22nd had 3 109's in diving on the groups 6 when from nowhere daddy and lb dove and engaged the cons and saved no less then 2 of the 22nd bombers from an imminate attack..and scoring kills on 2 of the 3 109's.. The 31st was not even tasked to escort the 22nd but when they heard our call they responded...
