Callsign History: Tune is a shredded pronunciation of a nearly-fictional family acquaintance from Wisconsin, a man named Tony - the older brother of a friend of ours (none of us ever actually met him, as he was a guest of the penal system). Over the years, me and my real (blood) brothers exaggerated the calling of his name, invoking our worst Sons-of-Knute accents, and it came out, "Tooney". As we exaggerated it even more over the years, the 'Y' sound at the end eventually dropped off, and it became, "Toon". Subsequently, the code-word for brother, inside my family, became "Toon". The last time I needed to create a WB account, the name "toon" was taken, so I harkened to my musical background and spelled out -tune-. The artist formerly known, in WB circles, as 'lumstr' and 'merlyn'. |
