Standard Operating Procedures
  1. Our Aim
The members of the virtual 31st Fight Group have gathered under the heritage of the greatest Fight Group in the MTO during World War II. We strive to emulate the awesome success the 31st FG had during the war.
To that we commit that we will try our best to represent the 31st Fight Group within the restraints of the simulator game Warbirds. Friendship, loyalty, teamwork, a passion for historical missions, and the drive to excel will be the foundation that the 31st Fighter Group builds on as we work together to be the best fighter group in Warbirds. Finally, we will remember that this is also a game, and is intended for enjoyment.

  2. Membership
31st Fighter Group membership is ‘OPEN’ to all people regardless of skill level. All we ask is that you participate in our weekly squad missions and you adhere to the {standard operating procedures} listed here. All new members will have the Rank of Cadet for the initial 1 to 2 months. After which they will be promoted to rank of 2nd LT. Dual membership in the 31st FG and another Warbird squadron will not be allowed. This also applies to individuals who may have multiple accounts. Note: Under special circumstances the leaders of the 31st FG may consider an individual’s dual membership to be satisfactory.

  3. Expectations from a member of the 31st Fighter Group
We expect members to have fun. We will be officially representing the 31st FG in all the Sims we fly in. And expect members to behave as if members of the real 31st FG were flying with us. There will be little tolerance given to anybody that directly or indirectly affects the squadron in a negative fashion. This can be done ONLINE, In-Person, or on the many Warbirds BBS. We will expect all members to behave properly in a public forum and on Warbird’s public radio channels. Any member who brings dishonor to the 31st FG will be subject to dismissal.
The members of the real 31st Fighter Group fought and died flying many a/c. These a/c are available within Warbirds. I will ask that our members not degrade or make comments in a negative light about these a/c. It is disrespectful to the men that flew them, and also to other members of the squadron who have a passion for them. Again, I will remind everyone that we must work toward showing our respect toward each other and the men of the real 31st FG and their achievements.

  4. Attendance and Participation
The 31st FG will not record attendance. All we ask is our members attempt to make our missions as often as possible. Members will be asked to email their squadron leader to let them know if they will be unable to make a squadron mission.

  5. War Fatigue
If at such a time a member has real life issues that will prohibit him from participating in squadron events for a certain amount of time, we will place that individual on ‘War Fatigue’ status. Under this status individuals are not expected to make squad events.
